SCARS ON BROADWAY's Debut Lands In Billboard's Top 20
August 6, 2008SCARS ON BROADWAY — the new band led by SYSTEM OF A DOWN guitarist Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan — sold just under 24,000 copies of its self-titled debut album in the United States during its first week of release to debut at position No. 17 on The Billboard 200 chart. SCARS ON BROADWAY will launch its first headlining tour of North America in October. Exact dates and venues have yet to be determined.
Both SCARS ON BROADWAY and SYSTEM lead singer Serj Tankian declined to release their latest projects through Columbia Records, where SYSTEM has been signed since 1998.
SYSTEM OF A DOWN has been on hiatus since 2006 while its members have pursued various personal projects.
